What is Baobab?

Baobab is a tree that thrives in hot, dry savannah. In its native areas it has various uses, but its fruit has become popular worldwide for its flavour and nutritional richness.
There is no such thing as a baobab plantation as every tree is community-owned and wild-harvested. The circumference of a baobab tree trunk can reach up to 25 meters.
The tree bears white flowers from which green velvety fruit, not dissimilar to coconuts grow. It is the only fruit in the world that dries naturally on its branch. It ripens like a normal fruit, but instead of dropping, it stays on the branch and bakes in the sun for 6 months until the outside is hard.
Baobab is high in vitamin C and calcium. These contribute to antioxidant protection, digestive health and skin rejuvenation. They also help to support the immune system and maintain strong bones and teeth.
Baobab is also a source of potassium and the magnesium found in baobab helps to reduce tiredness, stress and fatigue.
It is recommended that you take up to 1 tablespoon per day. It can be mixed with smoothies or added to foods.
It should not be used as a substitute for a varied balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Do not exceed the suggested use.
Green Origins Organic Raw Baobab powder is produced with minimal processing. The dry fruit is harvested and the fruit pulp is separated from the skin and seed. This is then milled into a powder and sieved.
This simple process maintains maximum nutrients.
